LFW DAY 2: HOUSE OF HOLLAND A/W 2011

Henry Holland is a London addiction that you either love or hate. Usually aiming at a young audience of loyal fans, Holland looked this time at more grown up inspirations, moving from typical granny hobbies such as playing bingo, crocheting and taking care of caged birds, though adding an ironic edge to it all.

Tweeds came indeed in pastel colours matched with stripy hosiery; classic crocheted squares in orange, pink, purple and red were replicated on scarves, thighs and jumpsuits; fun prints of bingo balls were employed for shirts and trousers while grown up jewellery such as pearls were used as decorative motifs on skirts and sweaters. Could this be just enough to shut Holland’s critics at least until the next season?
