LFW DAY 2: JAEGER LONDON A/W 2011

Jaeger design director Stuart Stockdale based his new collection on an Autumnal palette while adding every now and then optimistic orange-red, azure and mustard nuances. Wearability and saleability were the keywords, a good example was the rigorous sweater dress with pockets worn with a belt fastened at the waist, though there was a certain flamboyant emphasis on volumes.

Stockdale incorporated oversized collars in his outerwear and, while in some cases things worked better (see the dramatic shearling-lined lapel that reached the waist), in others the designs seemed a bit too cumbersome.
