MODALISBOA DAY 2: BACKSTAGE KATTY XIOMARA A/W 11

Katty Xoimara’s Autumn/Winter collection brought us the modernized ‘babydoll’ look with feminine details throughout in silk and ribbon, along with ‘garter’ tights and jewelled bodice hotpants to create a more sexy burlesque take on classic silhouettes. Key pieces included panelled cape coats and transparent chiffon blouses and skirts including a spotted chiffon floor length dress which echoed polka-dot collections from the foregone Paris and New York Fashion Weeks.

Black and white lace featured throughout the collection as capped sleeves on dresses, laced panels in silk blouses or as trim running along the outside-leg of silk trousers to help outline the feminine figure and add extra beauty and detail to the pieces. Waist-lines were clinched with ribbons tied into bows and sleeveless blouses were given extra sophistication with long silk neck ties providing a sense of classicism, while the collection playfully included glitter effects and white fur pompoms throughout.

The collection was feminized and beautiful while remaining audacious with an apparent circus theme provided by oversized top hats and glittering burlesque-style imagery.
