MODALISBOA DAY 3: BACKSTAGE ALEXANDRA MOURA A/W 11

Alexandra Moura brought us a playful show characterised by zig-zag patterns and a ‘cowboys and indians’ theme on a colour palette ranging from natural tan browns and black to indigo blue and yellow, also presenting a beautiful variety of coloured leather moccasins and cowboy boots and using more alternative materials such as neoprene synthetic rubber which featured as panelled collars or sleek jackets for men and women.

The zig-zag theme ran throughout the collection as embroidered pattern on thin veil material or combining strips of short shag fur and longer crimped cream fur on coats which were cleverly paired with vertically striped leggings in black and turquoise. There also featured feathers and square wooden beads as an extra hint of Native Indian style, with long flowing hair extensions and tall cardboard headdresses depicting scenes of woodland and wolf packs. The smattering of stars across the collection also represents the Native Indian lifestyle; living in the open as ‘people of the stars’.

The collection showcased a clever mix of materials and patterns, portraying both a fearless style and an au natural innocence.
