25-27 MARCH: KIEV FASHION DAYS A/W 11, UKRAINE

The second edition of Kiev’s first ever International fashion event, Kiev Fashion Days, begins today, 25th March inviting both Ukraine and foreign designers to showcase their latest Autumn/Winter collections, along with some of the most influential fashion editors and bloggers from around the globe… including our very own Zoot Magazine team who will be updating you with the latest Kiev trends very soon!

Live streaming will be transmitted on the Kiev Fashion Days facebook page HERE thanks to keen sponsors Nokia N8, with special free software for streaming and updates direct to all Nokia mobiles available from the OVI store. This event is showing with determination and force how despite its youth on the international fashion scene it still adopts the standards of some of the worlds major fashion weeks…

The star of Milan Fashion Week, designer Francesco Scognamiglio celebrates the 10th Anniversary of his Kiev fashion house and will be opening Kiev Fashion Days this evening to present 25 looks from his Spring/Summer collection, teaming up with Ukranian L’Officiel, the first Ukraine fashion magazine, which also celebrates its 10th Anniversary at the event. Music will be an important part of the weekend with “Thieves Like Us” performing at the opening and Pete Doherty performing at the closing party on Saturday 26th.

Organisers want to push the boundaries of the Kiev fashion industry and to promote Kiev as an upcoming destination for all fashion enthusiasts, new and old. One of the most important aims for Kiev Fashion Days is to provide a platform for young fresh design talent from all over the world and the “Pretenders Section” does exactly that; providing a mini-podium for the performances and installations by fledgling designers from the international fashion scene (UK, Russia, Switzerland and Ukraine). Education also plays a key part in the event which will feature a variety of lectures and workshops by foreign professionals; Zoot will be making a presentation during the weekend with an exclusive Q&A session, the complete lecture timetable is included below, along with full show schedule.
