SASHA KANEVSKI AT KIEV FASHION DAYS
Kanevski is one of Ukraine’s most pleasing designers, showing his collections since 2005 and having previously worked in Moscow and then New York after winning the Bazaar Fashion Forward in 2009. The young designer presented his Autumn/Winter collection for 2011 on day 1 of Kiev Fashion Days, showcasing a neat collection under the concept of a luxury cruise ship disaster…
The show incorporated classic eveningwear with modernised puffer jackets and harness straps reminiscent of life jackets and safety belts from the deluxe Titanic cruise ship. The jackets, straps and oblong waist bags adorned outfits with classic silhouettes including jumpsuits, A-line skirts and collared shirts; made from plastics, neoprene and knitwear in tones of black, electric blue and vibrant red.
Leather and zip detailing along with the use of modern materials and styling added a futuristic edge to the collection which was united with a sense of classicism and edgy elegance.
