BAPTISTE VIRY A/W ACCESSORIES COLLECTION

As a master of re-interpretation, Parisian fashion and accessory designer Baptiste Viry focuses on changing the perceptions of specific garments, proposing new ways to imagine the piece by combining unusual contrasting elements and telling a personal story through each design.

Viry began his career studying fashion design at l’Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne, after which he carried out a work placement at HERMES and launched his first ready-to-wear womenswear collection during 2006. Viry first introduced accessories in keeping with his ready-to-wear collections in 2008 and this gained a great response, with his unusual hats and jewellery featuring at the fair Premiere Classe in Paris shortly after. Viry has continued to develop this passion for alternative accessories, playing with the concept of re-assigning the function of an object, using a mixture of raw materials and vintage pieces to create garments which can transform and develop.

For Autumn Winter 2011/12 the Baptiste Viry accessories collection continues to push the boundaries of functionality and creativity, featuring brass metal structures with leathers and thick felts which form unique collars, visors and caps, as well as innovative fedoras structured solely by a vintage brown leather belt.
