For 2011 this legendary International trade show is celebrating its 10th year of unrivalled success and support. There will be an official film première on Wednesday 6th July at 9am to showcase the latest BBB movie, ’10 Years Bread & Butter’ and mark the opening of the shows first day. There is also a limited edition B&B book being released this year specially to celebrate the events 10th Anniversary, containing more than 2000 photographs on a spread of 480 pages which documents the evolution and growth of Bread & Butter and the urbanwear industry over the years. You can pick up your own copy of the book at B&Bs Luna Park and also attend the official book signing with the event director himself, Karl Heinz-Muller, on Thursday 7th at 11am in the Luna Park.
On top of the seemingly endless list of denim and streetwear brands presenting at the show, there is a packed itinerary of music concerts, with Mos Def, Airbourne and Deichkind performing at the opening party tonight, as well as, for the first time in Bread & Butter history, the B&B Shopping Nights in Berlin-Mitte on the 6th and 7th July where a number of stores will be extending their opening hours until 10pm to coincide with the trade show and allow all B&B’s fashion enthusiasts even more time to fulfil all their shopping needs whilst in Berlin!
The L.O.C.K. section of the B&B trade show this year assembles for the fifth time as “Labels Of Common Kin” presenting their work on a shared platform in order to promote the route of sustainable business, with brands such as Fred Perry, Edwin, Lee 101, B.D. Baggies and Barbour within their impressive portfolio. Meanwhile the Denim Base is back and bigger than ever seeing the presentations of LEVIS, Converse, Adidas Originals, G Star RAW, Hilfiger Denim, Wrangler, Replay, Salsa, Diesel and Calvin Klein just to name a few.
The Sport & Street area has this year become a “Desert Land” filled with a variety of sporting brands including new for this year Lacoste L!VE, Blue Marlin, Body Glove, New Love Club, Pony, as well as the classic sports brands such as Nike and K-Swiss. There is also the special Desert Land Stage with a unique music programme including performances from Black Milk and Theophilus London.
So whether you are looking for a place to meet new and old friends, visit the fully equipped business lounges, attend the stunning Super Nights events, shop all evening, or you really want to get involved in the process of building exciting new prospects for the future of the fashion industry (and pick up your latest copy of the all important Bread & Butter Brand Bible of course) then Berlin is definitely the place to be this week…
