MIU MIU NOIR COLLECTION

First introduced on the Miu Miu A/W 2011 catwalk, the Noir Sunglasses Collection expresses the rich and multifaceted personality of a Miu Miu woman’s style through unexpected combinations.

Inspired by the refined aesthetics of 1940’s film noir and the mysterious protagonists of the short film “Muta” by Lucrecia Martel – the second chapter of the Miu Miu Women’s Tales saga – which focuses on investigating the many aspects of the feminine nature. The film portrays the possibility of how objects within the scene, in this case the glasses, can transform into authentic characters in their own right. With no shots of the performers eyes and only little of their faces revealed throughout the film, the glasses seem to become an additional lens on the director’s camera…

The Miu Miu Noir sunglasses combine in a sophisticated silhouette, forms from the 40’s with extra modern details, transforming them into a creative expression of new attitude which springs from the harmonious fusion of such opposite concepts. The unusual combinations of metal and acetate, the modernised wavy lines of the frame and the classic colour palette with extra stand-out tones of glittered saffron and red clay give an ironically retro look to the collection.
