MARNI TO DESIGN A SPRING COLLECTION FOR H&M

Usually H&M waits to announce the next big designer to collaborate with them, however, less than a month after Versace hit stores, word spread that Italian fashion house Marni will be the next hot designer to collaborate with H&M! On March 8, 2012, Marni will hit 260 stores worldwide and online. The collection will be available for both men & women at affordable H&M prices!

According to Consuelo Castiglioni, Founder & Creative Director of Marni, “I wanted to create a true Marni wardrobe by revisiting all our favorite pieces in signature fabrics and prints. As always, I love juxtaposing prints and colours, mixing modern tribal with Bauhaus graphic adding sporty utilitarian elements”.

Women can expect bold prints and strong colours that will match and clash when layering together. There seems to be a ton of mixing going on in this collection, especially combining bold prints with statement pieces like the accessories. We’ll see a lot of classic Marni from the structured silhouettes, cropped trousers, pleated skirts and dresses, as well as jacquard knits! The fabric ranges from silk to crisp cotton poplin. Let’s not forget the accessories, that is the best part! Chunky jewellery, shoes, handbags and scarves will complete any outfit from H2T (Head to Toe).

For men, the collection will feature Marni staples, such as modern and relaxed silhouettes. Prints will be more refined, not as bold as Versace’s collaboration for H&M!
