BOB BASSET MASKS FOR PURE BOUTIQUE, KIEV

PURE is a new boutique located in the heart of Kiev, Ukraine providing clothing and accessories from young British and Ukrainian designers, as well as old vinyl, fashion books and now the masks of Bob Basset

The store sells only unique and interesting items with no mass brands involved. The PURE logo is a stylised portrait of Dr. Hannibal Lekter; his strong character, bold convictions and eccentricity a perfect representative of the stores concept and philosophy.

Læctær is the new brand created by PURE. It’s concept is the denial of seasonal fashion, target audiences and price politics, and each item produced by Læctær is dedicated to a prominent person, imaginary or real, who had a personality that fits with the Læctær values of independence, sophistication, individuality and passion.

At the recent Kiev Fashion Days, the Ukrainian store PURE exhibited work produced in a collaboration with Bob Basset, a Kharkiv-based workshop of high quality art pieces. The Bob Basset brand was founded by designer Oleg Petrov and his team from Ukraine, producing an assortment of accessory items; from gas masks to dog shoes, armour pieces and bags, all made of leather and incorporating crafts with stones, metalwork, resin and glass. The Bob Basset creations provide a sense of fantasy, horror, punk and to some extent, fetish.

The collaboration with PURE resulted in a small series of bags dedicated to the infamous Hannibal Lekter; the bag itself is presented as the masked head of Lekter. Only 10 copies were produced and they are priced at 400 Euros each.
