Christmas time is charity time! Not much longer ‘til the second  advent and whoever is yet to undertake a charitable deed may consider making a donation to Save the Children. Every year more than 8.1 million children around the world die from preventable diseases such as HIV, pneumonia, malaria, diarrhoea and measles.

You can donate those vintage heels and you have a chance to bag yourself a pair of some of the most wanted shoes on the planet. SAVE THE CHILDREN is auctioning  off these must-have shoes until 10th December on line at www.givinglots.co.uk/event/killerheels

Emerging London shoe designer ROB GOODWIN has personally delivered a pair of stunning handmade ankle boots worth £1,500 to help Save the Children kick out killer diseases as part of the Killer Heels designer and celebrity online shoe auction.

The 38.5 size, exclusive handcrafted ostrich and cow pewter/metallic 11.5cm Killer Heel boots, took Rob  just over a week to make. The current bid is £ 275, you have time to bid until 10th December!

Goodwin graduated from the London College of Fashion earlier this year and has worked with cult talent Terry de Havilland. His work has also been commissioned for ‘Shoes’ the Sadler’s Wells theatre production in addition to exhibiting in group shows for Gavin Tirk’s ‘House Of Fairy Tales and the ‘Art of Giving exhibitions at the Saatchi Gallery, alongside work by Sir Peter Blake, Rachel Whiteread and Vivienne Westwood. Rob launches his debut collection next year.

Rob said: “As with all the things I design and make, I really loved making these shoes for Save the Children’s Killer Heels appeal. I’m delighted that through this auction my shoes might help contribute to some much needed funds to this amazing appeal and assist the fantastic work these people do each day.”

A slight drawback for all non-Brits: The shoes must be handed in to one of 125 charity shops in Great Britain. The rest of the world can help by bidding for the heels!

Donators so far include: Manolo Blahnik, Alexander McQueen, Nicole Farhi, Nicholas Kirkwood, Georgina Goodman, Sienna Miller (Sergio Rossi) and many more.
