MODALISBOA DAY 3: BACKSTAGE MARIA GAMBINA A/W 11
Playful, colourful and sportive are just a few ways to describe the Maria Gambina A/W 11 collection. With bright pink, orange, baby blue and British racing green we had stripes, tartan and graphic <3 heart patterns…
Comfort seemed an important factor in the collection presenting white sportswear jackets and dresses detailed with colourful piping, oversized pockets and shoulder or elbow-patches in quilted fabrics. Reinterpretations of the classic bomber jacket and trenchcoat, along with large patent leather loafers and oversized toggles, gave flashbacks to the days of 1960s London Mod style.
Sportswear combined with tapestry-style embroidery, and collared shirts in Oxford blue stripes with baggy collot shorts and bright knitwear, to give us a refreshing mixture of styles and colour brightening up our wintery grey catwalks.
