PHIL BANANOV LEATHER AND CONCEPTUAL DESIGNS FROM KIEV FASHION DAYS
Phil Bananov is a young Kiev fashion designer who has successfully worked as a stylist for a number of international brands and media including Current.tv, Carlsberg group, Djuice, Lowe, President and Mtv. Mainly influenced by his architectural education, Phil considers himself a multi-artist inspired by natural resources and humanity recycling.
His latest collection, exhibited last week at Kiev Fashion Days, brings a talented mix of conceptual designs and specialist techniques on leather of varying colours, thickness and styles. His work includes intricate stitching and padding with a selection of stud and zip details for extra attitude in each of the leather peices. The collection also includes beautiful photographic prints and padded cotton outfits, along with “guitar string” leggings, “rock fist” leather gloves and even a cropped t-shirt with long flowing underarm hair…
All pieces are handmade and feature the unique adornments and leather design techniques that Bananov is rapidly becoming renowned for. His inspirations and conceptual ideas come from a variety of sources; from his leather jackets which are based on Japanese warrior armour to a dress with unique natural print taken from a personal photograph of woodland.
