The exploration of a post-winter world

In a world where global warming has erased the existence of winter, Constança Entrudo’s SS24 collection invites us into an apocalyptic scenario where winter is but a distant memory. With pieces designed to reflect this dramatic change: envision a workplace where traditional suits and pinstripe poplin shirts are torn and cut into pieces, their fragments woven into entirely deconstructed sweaters.

With a foundation rooted in the meticulous gathering and repurposing of discarded objects, Constança’s BURN OUT traces the invisible contours of everyday life. These are the items that linger at the bottom of desk drawers, within rarely used wallets, or hidden somewhere in the car. Driven primarily by the physical quality of these objects and selecting their combinations largely by chance, she establishes a connection between her work and dadaism, finding meaning in the absurd.

The patterns presented in this collection are derived from still lifes of everyday objects including the playful juxtaposition of Christmas ribbons with seashells and other beach motifs, as well as intricate sculptures depicting interwoven ballpoint pens. These sculptures and photographs of discarded items hint at the subtle exchanges of everyday life.

Using disposable ballpoint pens, Constança creates ink fields on canvas and paper surfaces. She presents a selection of blue ink drawings printed on various materials, including denim, crepe, and the brand’s characteristic fabrics. These ballpoint drawings represent the various states of office life’s tedium, frustration, and exhaustion, highlighting the dehumanizing effects of corporate culture.

This collection offers a critical look at office life and its power dynamics while providing an ironic commentary on consumer culture and waste.
