Giles Deacon is now the second designer to take up residence in London’s SHOWstudio broadcasting space, the LiveStudio, for one day only, the 27th June 2011, providing a worldwide insight into the workings of the British fashion star and his team as they create their own unique interpretation of the the classic tuxedo jacket, described as his “mirrorball smoking jacket” made from silver leather and being further embellished with fringe and metallic foil as the day goes on…
Throughout the live session Giles Deacon and his team will also be answering live questions from the public and the final piece for the project ‘Les Smokings‘ will be added to the SHOWstudio Shop exhibition ‘Practice to Deceive: Smoke and Mirrors in Fashion, Fine Art and Film’ which aims to take away the “smoke and mirrors” of the fashion industry by allowing direct access to the behind-the-scenes fashion process, from conception to completion. The jacket will then also be available to buy from SHOWstudio Shop once Deacon’s residency is complete.
