UNTIL 26TH MAR: "VIBRATO CON SORDINO" BY CHARLOTTE CHARBONNEL AT LA VERRIÈ, PARIS
Vibrato Con sordino is the latest installation by CHARLOTTE CHARBONNEL . The work is a four-surfaced prism, pointed the bottom, a mirror image of the pyramid-shaped glass roof of la Verrière. It is formed by hundreds of strings. Those clearly from musical instruments are mixed with threads of nylon, horsehair, casino online uk gut, hemp, steel cables, materials used in architecture or in ship fittings, sport (tennis, fishing, climbing). The visitor can gently disturb the strings to produce a sound. the installation, light yet monumental, as though tousled, its nerves stimulated, in contrast provokes a sensation of muted calm and harmony.
These are the positive vibrations that Charlotte Charbonnel – a brilliant graduate of the school of decorative arts in Paris, influenced by her travels in india and iceland – often succeeds in creating in the places in which she intervenes.
