Imagine stepping into the lobby of Browns Boutique Hotel, with its polished floors and velvet furniture offering a glimpse into a world where elegance meets intrigue. Here, in the heart of Lisbon’s Avenida Liberdade neighbourhood, the atmosphere is charged with an air of secrecy that recreates the clandestine meetings portrayed in the iconic 1960´s film with Dustin Hoffman and Anne Bancroft in “The Graduate” (1967).

The film tells the story of 21-year-old Benjamin Braddock, a recent college graduate with no well-defined aim in life who is seduced by an older married woman, Mrs. Robinson, but then falls for her daughter, Elaine.

In this editorial, Ana Carmo embodies the role of the enigmatic Mrs Robinson, with her behaviour shrouded in mystery and seduction, while Sebastian Hubert embodies the conflicted nature of Benjamin Braddock, caught between society’s expectations and personal desires. Against this backdrop, our photo shoot unfolds, each frame capturing the essence of longing and forbidden love that defined the legendary film.

Photographer Joana Linda skillfully crafts each shot, capturing subtle gestures and emotions that echo the essence of the characters. From contemplative gazes to fleeting expressions, the photographs exude intimacy and intrigue, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the narrative of “The Graduate.”

I´ve had this feeling ever since I graduated. This kind of compulsion that I have to be rude all the time…It’s like I was playing some kind of game, but the rules don’t make any sense to me. They’re being made up by all the wrong people. I mean no one makes them up. They seem to make themselves up.

— Benjamin Braddock, The Graduate.

Benjamin: Listen to me. What happened between Mrs. Robinson and me was nothing. It didn’t mean anything. We might just as well have been shaking hands.

Mr. Robinson: Shaking hands? Well, that’s not saying much for my wife, is it?

Benjamin: The point is I don’t love your wife, I love your daughter, Sir.
