This season, one of our teams embedded backstage at ModaLisboa Capital, turning the lens inside out. Art directed by Nuno Tiago and captured by Henrique Seruca, the film offers a raw, electric portrait of Fall/Winter 25/26 — inspired by the grain, grit, and undone glamour of the ’90s. The models are not just subjects; they are the pulse, the heartbeat of the story. The camera doesn’t simply observe — it immerses, dissolving the distance between subject and viewer. No separation. Just breath, motion, and light. Spontaneous. Electric. Unfiltered. This isn’t about perfection — it’s about presence. You’re not watching from afar; you’re in it.

Backstage at ModaLisboa Capital, photographer and filmmaker Henrique Seruca, who joined us from Madeira, captured the raw energy of Fall/Winter 25/26. Stylist Nuno Tiago curated looks over three days, framing the pulse of Portuguese fashion. The film is a fluid journey between perspectives, shifting from behind the camera to within the model’s world, where observer and subject merge.
Here, inversion is everything. The models are not just subjects — they are the heartbeat of the project. The protagonists. The lens doesn’t merely look at them — it looks with them. Through them. The gaze is inverted.
Crucially, the beauty direction — a vital part of the backstage language — was led by ZOOT’s beauty editor Antonia Rosa, who has headed the ModaLisboa beauty team since 1995. Season after season, she and her team craft bold, expressive looks for every designer — a driving force behind the emotion, rhythm, and visual identity of the shows.
The film shifts fluidly between points of view. One moment, we’re behind the camera with the photographer; the next, we’re pulled into the model’s world. Observer becomes observed. Inside becomes outside. It captures the tension, the thrill, the quiet intensity of backstage — sometimes loud, sometimes hushed, but always alive.
The camera doesn’t look on — it steps into the moment, into the pulse. It doesn’t frame the model as an object, but as a person in motion. Present. Real. The film unpolishes the polish, revealing something more human.
Visually and conceptually, the film rewinds to the 1990s, capturing not only the aesthetic codes of that era — the grain, the grit, the undone glamour — but also the mood. The rawness of backstage. The blurred lines between model and artist, between performance and presence. It channels that era’s energy: spontaneous, electric, unfiltered.
This isn’t about perfection. It’s about presence. About seeing — and feeling. The viewer isn’t a bystander — they’re part of the current, part of the charge that moves through the room.
The camera doesn’t frame from a distance. It dissolves the line entirely. The viewer isn’t just watching. They’re inside it. In the lineup. In the heartbeat.

NUNO TIAGO
Fashion designer, stylist and art director
My passion for fashion began early—I drew my first sketch at 6 and created my first garment, a bustier, at 8 under my grandmother’s guidance. At 16, I launched my first mini collection at a top Lisbon nightclub and started selling to nightlife influencers.
In 1996, I formally began my fashion journey, studying Fashion Design at CIVEC and graduating in 2001, followed by a professional internship with designer Miguel Vieira. Early on, I won several design awards, which led to opening my own shop in Chiado with my brand “Nuno Tiago,” focused on gender-inclusive sport and city wear. I presented collections at Portugal Fashion and “Circuite” and also designed activewear for Vanderleef, along with uniforms and wardrobes for stage and shows.
In 2004, I joined GQ as a Fashion Style Editor and went on to work with over 15 magazines across fashion, luxury, art, and lifestyle. I later became resident Fashion Producer for Flash magazine (Cofina group) for nearly a decade, all while continuing my work as a designer. I co-created and co-hosted the TV show Polícia da Moda (Fashion Police) on CMTV, where I remained a daily presenter for eight years.
After TV, I consulted for Tropical Brasil as a stylist and trend researcher. Since 2021, I’ve been designing women’s collections for GraceFashionBrand, a slow fashion label committed to sustainability and supporting women-led ateliers.
As a stylist and art director, I’ve worked on national and international magazines, campaigns, and advertising since the early 2000s, continuously blending creativity with experience.
